The guesthouse owner is a keen golfer and has constructed their very own 9 hole “All-Weather Synthetic Chipping/Putting Green” where guests can sharpen their short game.
Just 1 mile from the famous Westport Parkland Course, host to the Irish Amateur Close Championship on 4 separate occasions, this test of golf is also breath-taking for its views of Clew Bay and Croagh Patrick. The rising light of Irish Golf, Rory McIlroy, won the Irish Amateur Close Championship when it was held at Westport in 2006, at the tender age of 17.
Other local Parkland courses include Ballinrobe and Castlebar. And for the Links enthusiast Carne (Belmullet), Enniscrone and Mulranny are within easy access.
