The Down Summer Trophy combines superb natural beauty with some of the finest golfing available in the country.
It is always a pleasure to visit the Down District and once more enjoy the friendliness of the people, the breathtaking scenery, traditional Irish music, ancient Celtic heritage and above all the delights of the excellent golf courses.
You will be able to enjoy this tournament playing St. Patrick's Golf Club, Ardglass Golf Club and Royal County Down Golf Club.
A favourite with many US, Canadian and European golfers, this event is perfect for enjoying the summer in Northern Ireland and the County Down
Limited to 198 players and played over three days, on three different golf courses, golfers compete for the first prize; to be crowned the Down Summer Trophy Champion.
The competition format is singles stableford, with scores from all three days counting towards the overall winning total. The final round takes
place on the world renowned Royal County Down Golf Club links courses with golfers teeing off in order of leaderboard positions i.e. the top
scoring players tee off in the final groups.
There are individual competitions and prizes on each day with players competing for prizes in their dedicated category; Ladies, Gents and Over
60’s. Other prizes on offer on each of the three days include longest drive, nearest the pin and category winners. A Gala Dinner and Prize
Giving is held on the final evening for all competitors.
The tournament is open to male and female golfers who are members of an affiliated golf club and hold an official handicap.
On the final day the top 150 golfers will play on the world renowned Royal County Down Golf (Championship Links) whilst the remaining 48 golfers
will play Royal County Down Golf Club (Annesley Links).
Golf buggies are NOT permitted on Royal County Down. Entry for this event must be completed by Friday 28th July 2017.
