Headfort Golf Club - Old Course

Although a little shorter, and perhaps easier than Headfort (New), this is true to its form as being a genuine old parkland course. Mature trees are in abundance, stretching far along fairways, and towering over tee boxes. They rise and fall with the rolling landscape which creates an element of diversity throughout. Again at this course, a straight hit is required if you wish to see your ball again, as it is tight and wooded areas can be brutal.

The course is always in excellent condition, although the greens would be smaller than those on the New. The 14th is a fantastic Par 3 where you must hit out from under a large oak tree and over a hollow. The 15th has a sharp dog-leg which will not appeal to those who hit with a fade. The 18th, like the 1st, is simply perfect. This is a superb course to play especially in conjunction with a later booking on the New course. A well deserved drink in the beautiful clubhouse awaits your day out.
