Strandhill contains 5804m of undulating fairways & unforgiving shortcuts, which promises to be an unforgettable experience by all who play it. The par 70 course is challenging but rewarding. A certain amount of whit is required when playing Strandhill, as the driver is not always the club of choice on a number of tricky holes, especially on the back nine and in particular the dog legs of the 13th & 15th.
Bump and run is a good bet here, but be aware that the ball may not go entirely in the direction that you want due to the rolling fairways. The 5th to the 7th and 12th to 16th holes are the best with the 18th being the toughest on the course.
Strandhill has some superb scenery to admire while playing it. Knocknarea Mountain, Culleenamore Strand and Strandhill Beach all act as back-drops during the round. The sea laps on two sides as you play alongside the beach for the 2nd to 4th holes, and perched up on the 7th tee box you can see the surfers challenge the waves in the nearby ocean.
The club house has a fully stocked Pro Shop, a restaurant and bar facilities where you can relax before and after your game.
