The Hawkshill Championship Course at Newmachar Golf Club was designed by Dave Thomas and opened for play in 1990.

It is set amongst mature silver birch and Scots pine trees, with water hazards combined with strategic bunkering of fairways and greens making it one of the toughest tests around.
