Muirfield is a private members golf course that has hosted sixteen Open Championships.

The layout of the course makes it unlike most links courses, which typically run along the coast and then back again. At Muirfield you will find two sets of nine holes, one clockwise and one anticlockwise.

Muirfield’s unique layout means that no more than three consecutive holes follow the same direction in the wind!
