“Old” Tom Morris accompanied by his companion Horace Hutchinson travelled to South Uist at the request of landowners in June 1891.

The pair went on site visit with a view to laying out a new course and eventually laid out eighteen holes on rolling dunes of Askernish Farm, which “Old” Tom declared as having an overwhelming choice for links land available.

The ongoing development continued through time and in 2009 along with fresh support from Bandon Dunes developer Mike Keizer and Tom Doak, contributed towards making it even better than ever before!
