Established in 1892, Gailes Links is part of the prestigious Glasgow Golf Club; it has hosted 32 International competitions since 1927 and was an Open Championship Qualifying course four times.

In 1912 Willie Park Jr., who had won the Open Championship in 1887 and 1889, joined forces with Tulloch, the Club Pro to re-design a layout for their club that included moving dunes over 40 feet tall – today’s 6,903 yard championship tees are off this original design.
