Machynys, which translates to ‘Monks Island’, opened in 2005 and is proud to boast the first Nicklaus designed golf course in Wales.

The resort has a modern links style layout overlooking Carmarthen Bay and Gower in South Wales.

Monk’s Island is the youngest course ever to be awarded an R&A championship, and has recently been awarded the Welsh Open Stroke Play Championship in 2021.
