Lough Erne Resort’s spectacular Faldo Championship Golf Course will be thrust into the global spotlight next month when the PGA EuroPro Tour Championship Finale takes place from 19th-21st October.

Millions of people from right across the world are expected to watch the action which is being televised by Sky Sports golf. The event is open to the general public free of charge and there are no tickets required for entry.

The competition affords the opportunity for five PGA EuroPro Tour members to earn their Challenge Tour card after 15 gruelling competitions.

Barry McCauley, Golf Operations Manager at Lough Erne, said the whole resort is looking forward with anticipation to hosting the conclusion of the 2022 EuroPro Tour season: This will be a historic moment for Lough Erne Resort, as it’s the first time we will have hosted a week-long professional tournament on the Faldo Course, renowned as being one of the top parklands courses in the UK and Ireland. Our team has been working tirelessly with the EuroPro Final Tournament Directors to ensure everything is ready.”

“Over the last few years, we have made significant investments in our golf facilities, and we are excited to be able to showcase this on a global stage for golf professionals and enthusiasts alike.”

There are 36 holes of golf at Lough Erne Resort, but the Tour Championship will be played across its prized asset: the Faldo Course. Measuring 7,071 yards from the tips, it can be deemed as a lengthier challenge, but the intelligent use of water ensures accuracy will be held in high regard. A dominating feature of the Faldo layout is the spectacular views of Lough Erne.

It has also recently been confirmed that the ‘Champion of Champions World Championship in association with Flogas, which attracted 250 Junior Golf Champions from over 40 countries to Lough Erne Resort for Europe’s biggest World Amateur Golf Ranking Champions Invitational, is to return in 2023.

Lough Erne Resort is nestled on a 600-acre peninsula and has previously been awarded Hotel of the Year, after becoming Northern Ireland’s first 5-star AA and NITB resort upon inception. With more than 120 rooms and suites available, it is at the forefront of Northern Irish golf and offers an experience that is rarely matched elsewhere. Through a collection of 36 holes in the form of two championship golf courses, the resort’s overall appeal is significantly strengthened through its industry-leading golf facilities and services.
